Kotaku reviews the Ouya, the dinky games console built with Android. I think the best you can say from this review is it's not for hardcore gamers, but you probably could have guessed that. Reading that review and looking at the outrageously variable quality of the games available makes me rather nostalgic for the early 80s when new computers and new games for them were coming out all the time. That's quite exciting, but I'm not convinced that Android games consoles are the future of big screen computing in your front room.
GNU Awk: This is Not Your Father's Awk. I haven't done anything with it for a few years, but I used to love me some Awk. It is a terrific little language. Robbins book on sed & awk is great too - a technical book that's a really enjoyable read.
