BoingBoing.TV: Interview with Paul Allen - Xeni talks to philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder Paul G. Allen about The Allen Telescope Array, an astronomy project 6 years in the making that expands the search for extra-terrestrial life. Allen joins researchers from the SETI Institute and UC Berkeley today in Hat Creek, California, to announce that the first phase of the ATA is complete -- 42 of an eventual 350 radio dishes are now active and collecting scientific data from the universe.
Absolutely not what I expected from BoingBoing.TV. It appeared to be setting itself up to be sold as a comedy filler item on American network television, but here it is with a dead straight, interesting, interview with Paul Allen, the man who put the money behind SpaceShipOne, about a new and innovative telescope array he's backing.
